Melissa Maxwell
18 Elite Assistant Coach
Melissa is originally from Western New York where she played volleyball through her college career. While earning her Master's degree, she was an assistant coach at Buffalo State College for a three year tenure. Shortly after finishing her master's, Melissa relocated to Charlotte where she started coaching with CJV at the local level with our gold programs and eventually our semi-national teams. Most recently, Melissa spent time living and working in Boston enjoying her role as the head coach for the 16 elite team and outdoor program at Boston United Volleyball Club. She is excited to return here to CJV and continue coaching with our national program.
Coach Philosophy:
As a coach I hope to encourage my athletes to be the best versions of themselves both on and off the court. My goal is to challenge my athletes while continuing to offer encouragement and support. When coaching any team, it is easy to focus on the destination instead of the road and journey that it takes to get there. While the end goal is ultimately the most successful season possible, it is imperative to remember there is an entire season where each practice, scrimmage and game is chance to achieve small goals.
