Counselor In Training (CIT) Camp - Play & Learn

Our Counselor In Training Camp (CIT) is a leadership development Summer Camp for kids 13-15 years of age. The CIT Camp is designed to develop skills that apply to camp, sports, school and life.  Each participant will learn the fundamentals of leading games, sports drills and camp activities.  They will learn age appropriate child development and the responsibility of working with children.

While learning the importance of service through hands-on training, CITs will experience all the fun of camp and building strong, lasting friendships. Each CIT will be partnered with different Camp Counselors to assist young campers in their daily sports and activities, and CITs will be evaluated on their performance.

The goal of the CIT Camp is for our junior counselors to have Fun and Learn while at camp. Interacting with campers and representing Sports Connection requires a certain level of maturity and we expect all CIT's to be able to Listen, Learn and Lead. Our directors will contact all CIT Campers before camp to discuss our expectations and their responsibilities and any CIT Camper we feel is not the best fit for our CIT Program, will be issued a refund.

Camp Information & Registration (2021)

To REGISTER for any Sports Connection Summer Camp, or to just VIEW all the specific dates available for each camp, please click on the Sports Connection Location below you are interested in. You will be connected to our Secured Online System (called DASHOnline) to setup your Camper Information and then select your Camp Dates, Early Drop-Off / Late Pick-Up Dates and Lunch Dates. If you are already a Sports Connection Customer, you can LOG IN with your UserName (Email) and Password. If you are new to Sports Connection, you can easily create an account or connect using Facebook. If you have forgotten your password, simply click "I have forgotten my password", or feel free to call us at 704-583-1444 to reset your password for you.

Too busy to register online? 
No problem. We have camp specialist available to assist you in person, or we can register your child over the phone. Just call us at 704-583-1444 and ask for a Summer Camp Team Member.

Need to register for multiple days of summer camp, but do not want to pay the full balance until later? No problem. Just call us at 704-583-1444 and we will help you register for multiple days of camp and you can pay a $100 deposit for as many days or weeks of camp as you would like. The paid deposit will be applied to your camp balance. The remaining balance is due by May 31, 2022. (If you want to take advantage of any early registration discounts, the balance will need to be paid by April 15, 2022.)

Online Registration Hint: After you click on the LOCATION in the chart below (under the TO REGISTER Column), you will be redirected to our secured online Customer Management System called DAY SMART and there you will be able to view and register for all our camps, lunches and early and late pickup. Once you are on our DAY SMART System, click on the BLUE VIEW button. That will then direct you to the registration page. (The Date shows just the FIRST day of our summer camps, you have to click on the BLUE REGISTER button to view ALL Summer Camp Dates.) Select the Dates you would like to attend and then continue on through to checkout.

The FLEX PASS is accepted for all Super Terrific Fun & Sports Camps.

Camp Days / Dates
The Sports Connection's SUPER TERRIFIC FUN CAMPS are offered every day (Monday - Friday) from June 6, 2022 to August 24, 2022.

Camp Times
The Sports Connection's SUPER TERRIFIC FUN CAMPS are from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM each day. Campers can be dropped off up to 30 minutes before the start of camp and picked up no later than 30 minutes after the end of camp. Extended Drop-Off starting at 7:00 AM and Extended Pick-Up until 6:00 PM are available each day for an additional $6 per session.7

Camp Cost
$50 Per Day - If register by April 15, 2021 - ($10 per day discount) 
$55 Per Day - When you purchase the Flex Pass option - ($5 per day discount)
$60 Per Day - Regular camp cost per day (Register at least 24 hours in advance. Based on availability)

We do not offer sibling discounts. Campers attending multiple weeks of camp and are interested in discussing a possible payment plan, can call 704-583-1444.

Registration Fee
An Annual Registration Fee is required for all Summer Camps. The Registration Fee is $25 per Camper or $35 per Family.

Camp Lunch
Each camper is responsible for bringing his/her own bag lunch and snacks for each day of camp.

Camp Snacks
The Sports Connection will provide time for snacks and beverages each morning and afternoon for all campers. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase at the Sports Connection snack bar. Campers are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages as well.

Required Equipment
Campers are required to wear sneakers and socks to camp each day. No sandals or heelys. Socks are required to be worn at all times in the inflatable area.

Camp Staff
The camp counselors are full-time employees of the Sports Connection, Physical Education Instructors, School Teachers and other local Sports Enthusiasts. Our ratio is 8 to 10 campers per counselor. 

Camp Transfers or Cancellations
Campers may TRANSFER from one day or week to another, at no charge, provided we are notified (preferably by email) 2 or more days before the start of the original camp date and there is room available in the new camp date. Changes made less than 2 days before the start of the original camp date will result in a transfer fee of $10 per day. CANCELLATION of the camp at anytime, will result in a $10 fee per day. The remaining balance will be issued as a Sports Connection CREDIT to be used for another camp or program at Sports Connection, or the balance can be put on a Sports Connection GIFT CARD to be used at any time in the future. There will be no transfers or credits allowed without at least a 4 hour notification before the start of the first day of camp.
