Jana Eatman
13 Semi-National North Head Coach
Jana is a Taco Bell-loving coach from Albemarle, North Carolina, with a passion for coaching our next generation and eating a medium-rare steak. She has been playing volleyball since she was an awkward pre-teen and coaching since she graduated high school in 2010. We promise she is legitimately 28 years old even though she frequently gets asked which team she's on.
She attended UNC Charlotte where she pole vaulted and threw javelin as a member of the University's Track and Field team. Ultimately, she came back to coach the sport she loved first (and most). She got her degree in Communications, which isn't surprising because she certainly does love to talk...
Jana coached with Stanly Extreme and Carolina Storm before coming to CJV, and is entering her 5th season with the club! She has learned a lot from working with some amazing coaches over the years and hopes to inspire her players to have a passion for volleyball while developing their techniques and skills. She has worked with all ages but truly loves the semi-national middle school level.
Her day job is as a Business Development Manager at Spotlight Branding in Cornelius, assisting attorneys with their digital marketing. When she's not working, you can typically find Jana at a local brewery or on her couch taking a nap.
Coach Philosophy:
I believe that the pursuit of improvement and a mentality of continuously seeking growth is the most foundational aspect of a successful player. These are the kinds of players that I want to coach.
As a coach, I strive to create an engaging, positive environment that facilitates progress in the players' skills, both on and off the court. My main goal is that after a season together, the players I worked with walk away with:
Increased proficiency in their technique
Improved communication skills
